Islands is a semi-abstract series that began with the need to find myself in silence in front of squares of paper to mix and explore, stick and ink with no other objective than to immerse myself in this moment. It was the colors and shapes that created the wind and the waves, the light and the storms. This series transformed into islands, these meeting places between land and sea, and reminded me of my trip to Ireland, on the island of Aran. The names of the Scottish islands came to me through my meeting with a Scottish woman who became a true friend and whom I wanted to honor.
