Island is a semi-abstract series that began with the need to find myself in silence in front of squares of paper to mix and explore, paste and ink with no objective other than to immerse myself in this moment. These are the colors and shapes that created the wind and waves, the light and the storms. This series was transformed into islands, these meeting places between land and sea, and reminded me of my trip to Ireland, on the island of Aran. The names of the Scottish islands stood out to me through my meeting with a Scottish woman who became a true friend and whom I wanted to honor.
