The Words

Words open doors and worlds. I need to feed on them every day, just as I have seasons for my favorite books that I like to reread at the same time of year. In my studio, I have cards from artists who inspire me, love postcards that are over 150 years old, and quotes.
“ Joy lives in me ” reminds me that joy, life, energy and movement, live within me and that this joy can be veiled by everyday life sometimes. But that it exists nonetheless.
Like a source that needs to be maintained and cleared of the dead things that pollute it. But it is ready to explode, to be awakened by what resembles me the most: music, children, my husband's love, dance, painting, colors, nature...
It is a continuous source that is a serene joy, an incredible force during storms. It allows me to be light enough to fly above the daily grind.
So that I can rise without effort.
So that I can breathe freely.
So that I can think calmly.
It allows me to see and discern what is essential.
