Each of these paintings bears an ancient name, the name of our great grandmothers, strong women who bravely faced up to their lives. I wanted to pay tribute to this line of grandmothers and to Rose and Marguerite, my favourite grandmothers.

Wild yet delicate, these roses embody feminine strength and fragility. They emerge from the material like a sparkle of nature.
I love flowers, but roses are special, with their intriguing beauty. And their love affair with poetry. In this series I have included poems and definitions of roses found in old books. I  also used this charming poem by Emily Dickinson.
