It's the season of change
Share
As spring approaches, this season of renewal, I'm reminded of my own personal renewal
when I returned to art in a whole new way
not in the way that art college had taught me
where I graduated with a master's degree in Art history
and later an agrégation in Fine Arts
but which left me dissatisfied and disappointed.
When I picked up a brush and sheets of paper again, it was like breathing again.
After so many years, a burn out, a divorce, the constant habit of ignoring my intuition and my little inner voice. Perhaps you know the feeling?
But when I picked up a paintbrush and a pencil again, suddenly it was as if a new energy and a new awareness were taking hold of me. I was in the right place.
And slowly, layer after layer, colour after colour, I remembered.
I remembered that beauty is alive and within us, and that all it needs to do is open up.
That it's not a question of perfection but of authenticity.
That to create is to open a door
To the freedom to be ourselves.
If you feel you need to slow down, listen to yourself and take care of yourself.
It's just your soul beckoning.
